about us
The Band of Thunder has been in existence for well over a decade and continues to cross musical boundaries.  Their approach is fresh and inspired, blending the talents of four of Cleveland, Ohio’s finest musicians.

Clifton Beasley, one of the finest keyboard players around, continuously spellbinds audiences as he brings life to the keyboard with his very own dynamic style of on stage performances and arrangements. Clifton has served as musical director for the Euclid High School Voices of New Life Gospel Choir, Citizens Academy, Christian Music Academy and Karamu House.  He has also served as Music Director for the stage play of “Black Nativity” for seven years.  Clifton currently serves as Music Director for  thomasvisions productions which have produced “Prayer Warriors” and most recently, “Movement of Spirit and Soul”. Though classically trained, he has merged his love of gospel with R & B only to have that union erupt and captivate audiences everywhere he performs.  There are few who demand so much attention and you will be mesmerized as you listen to him play.  Clifton Beasley demands that you stand up and take notice.

Rod Reisman, a very versatile drummer in his own right.  Rod has performed with some of the best bands around.  Rod is a former member of First Light, and his professional career includes work with Sextet Devo, Crystal Brandy, Buckeye Biscuit, Alex Bevan, and Robert Lockwood Jr.  In addition to being an essential member of the Band of Thunder, Rod also plays with Sweet Willy, Solid Cats, Cletus Black and Cats on Holiday.  Some say that Rod has forgotten more about drums than many of us will ever know.  There will certainly be no way you can forget this talented drummer as he sits back under his stylish dark sunglasses and you won’t be able to escape his groove.

Jeff Domzalski, or as we affectionately call him “Jeff D” plays bass.  After observing many years as a fan, Jeff finally became a member of the Band of Thunder.  Jeff plays piano, guitar, but prefers playing his bass. Having played mostly in folk and country bands, this professionally trained Accountant rocks his groove way down in the bottom and lends just the right touch.  Jeff has found fertile ground deep in the Band of Thunder.

Herb Thomas, founder of the Band of Thunder, percussionist and master of all around musical noise instruments.  When not working in his other life as a photojournalist with WJW FOX-8, Herb can be heard rendering various melodious sounds of African drums, the sweet sound of chimes, or the brash sound of whistles; whatever the instrument, rest assured that the blend will be pleasing to the ear.  Herb has performed with the O’Jays and the Sly, Slick and the Wicked.  His musical influences are Motown, Philly and soundtracks.  He lends his own special brand to the groups’ jazz, funk and soul selections.  When not perched behind his percussion instruments, he can be found collaborating with Clifton writing original lyrics and arranging music for his Performing Arts Group, the Prayer Warriors.

The group also boasts a select group of backup vocalists known as Prayer Warriors Lite.  This talented group of singers lends a flavorful blend of jazz, blues and R & B.  Together, Prayer Warriors Lite and the Band of Thunder add just the special touch you need for your small and/or large special events.  The Band of Thunder can be heard as backup band for the Prayer Warriors for live performances as well as on all CD releases.

Whether it is Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Reggae, or just plain funk, the Band of Thunder can manage the mission.
